PRIVACY POLICY · DATENSCHUTZ

Private by default.

English

UpRep stores the exercise library, workout plans, completed sessions, an active workout, preferences and voluntarily selected workout photos on the user’s device. UpRep does not require its own account, uses no advertising or tracking SDKs and does not transmit training or Apple Health data to the developer.

Optional iCloud sync

iCloud sync can be turned on or off under “iCloud & Data.” When enabled, UpRep stores the exercise library, workout plans, completed workouts and voluntarily selected workout photos through Apple CloudKit in the private database of the user’s iCloud account. This allows the data to be merged across the user’s devices and restored after reinstalling the app. Existing local or cloud data is not deleted when sync is turned off, and UpRep stops accessing CloudKit until sync is enabled again. Manual backup and restore actions are unavailable while sync is off.

Apple Health step counts, body-mass history, active energy, distances and Health workouts are not stored in this CloudKit database. Depending on the user’s iOS settings, local app data may additionally be included in Apple’s encrypted iCloud device backup.

Apple Health and HealthKit

Connecting Apple Health is optional and requires explicit permission. UpRep reads step counts for goals, progress, statistics and streaks; body-mass history for charts, seven-day trends and goal progress; and cardio workouts for duration, activity type, active calories and distance. With separate write permission, UpRep saves only body-mass values that the user explicitly enters. Estimated or interpolated weights are neither created nor written.

HealthKit remains the source of truth for this health history. UpRep does not upload Health data to its own servers or use it for advertising, profiling, marketing, data mining or sale. Permissions can be changed at any time in Apple’s system settings. Starting a strength workout can open the paired Apple Watch app, where the user can start a HealthKit workout that appears in Apple Fitness.

Widgets, Live Activities and Apple Watch

UpRep keeps only the settings required by these features and a protected, backup-excluded cache of the last available step count for widgets. A limited step snapshot is transferred to the paired Apple Watch through Watch Connectivity for the Steps complication. Widget updates are scheduled by Apple and may show an older timestamp. Body weight is not displayed in widgets or transferred to Apple Watch. Live Activities show current workout information through ActivityKit.

Export, import and deletion

Users can export exercises, workout plans and workout history as a JSON file and import such a file later. Exported files are stored or shared only where the user chooses. Imports are merged using internal identifiers.

Users can delete individual completed workouts or erase all UpRep data from the app. Erasing all data removes local training data, photos, settings and UpRep’s private CloudKit training zone; it does not delete samples stored in Apple Health. Uninstalling the app removes local app data, while an existing private iCloud sync copy remains available until it is deleted through the app or the user’s Apple account controls.

Estimates and Apple processing

If a weekly weight goal is displayed as calories, UpRep uses the simplified estimate 1 kg ≈ 7,000 kcal. This is not a medically exact conversion. UpRep does not provide medical diagnosis or advice. Apple may process App Store, purchase, crash or diagnostic data according to the user’s Apple settings and Apple’s policies.

Deutsch
